Hot Summer Days
The weather this summer has been a bit taxing. The high temperature and humidity requires us to be extra cautious with ensuring ample shade and water for all animals while ensuring we also have the same for us while completing chores throughout the day. We start early (5:30am) and take an extended lunch break to get away from the heat and then go back at it later in the afternoon until dinner time. Sometimes we even wrap up chores after dinner before dark. Sometimes there are longer days than others and as you can imagine there are no holidays or weekend breaks on the farm as animals require 7 day a week care. Some may think we are crazy for choosing this lifestyle but the return on investment is great. Being able to offer our children, family and community healthy, nutrient dense food is a wonderful and fulfilling opportunity. We are grateful to each and every one of you for supporting us and staying connected especially during the instability that we are all currently living in. We hope you are all safe and healthy and look forward to connecting again soon.
